DMCA Copyright Policy

Effective June 25, 2026.

1. Our policy on copyright

ClipCapsule is a personal-archive product. The vast majority of content uploaded is home video the user holds the copyright to. However, content uploaded to a family library can be visible to family members, and we take copyright seriously. If you believe someone has uploaded your copyrighted material to ClipCapsule without authorization, you can ask us to remove it under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

ClipCapsule complies with the DMCA safe-harbor procedures set out in 17 U.S.C. § 512(c).

2. Designated agent

The DMCA designated agent for KCORBOT LLC (operator of ClipCapsule) is:

DMCA Designated Agent — KCORBOT LLC

Email: dmca@clipcapsule.app

Mailing address: available on request until registered with the U.S. Copyright Office.

Email is the fastest channel and produces a documented record.

3. How to file a takedown notice (DMCA § 512(c)(3))

For us to act on your notice, it must include all of the following, in writing, signed (physical or electronic signature) by you or your authorized agent:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works on ClipCapsule are covered, you can list them together.
  2. Identification of the allegedly infringing material and information sufficient to let us locate it. A direct link or a unique identifier from the ClipCapsule app is best.
  3. Your contact information — full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Send the complete notice by email to dmca@clipcapsule.app with the subject line “DMCA Takedown Notice.” Incomplete notices may not receive a response.

4. False claims have consequences

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing — or that material was removed by mistake — may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees, incurred by the alleged infringer, any copyright owner, or ClipCapsule. Don't send a DMCA notice if you're not the rights holder or an authorized agent.

5. How to file a counter-notice (DMCA § 512(g))

If your content was removed because of a DMCA notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send us a counter-notice. To be effective, your counter-notice must include:

  1. Identification of the removed material and the location where it appeared before removal.
  2. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  3. Your full name, mailing address, and telephone number.
  4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, the District of Delaware), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original DMCA notice or an agent of that person.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.

Send the counter-notice by email to dmca@clipcapsule.app with the subject line “DMCA Counter-Notice.”

Once we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant. If they do not file a court action seeking to restrain the activity within 10 to 14 business days, we may restore the removed material.

6. Repeat-infringer policy

In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable law, ClipCapsule has a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, accounts of users we determine to be repeat infringers.

We may also limit access or remove content for users we believe are infringing copyright, whether or not there is repeat infringement.

7. Other intellectual-property complaints

For trademark, right-of-publicity, or other non-copyright IP concerns, contact legal@clipcapsule.app and describe the issue. Provide enough information for us to identify the content and your rights.

8. Outside the United States

If you are outside the U.S. and your jurisdiction has an equivalent notice-and-takedown regime, please mark your notice accordingly so we route it correctly.
