Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and an encrypted password. We do not collect your real name unless you choose to add a display name.

Uploaded content: We store the home videos you upload, along with any clips, thumbnails, and metadata generated during processing. This content is associated with your account and any family groups you create.

Usage data: We collect basic usage information such as pages visited, features used, and error logs to improve the service. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the ClipCapsule service
• Process and store your uploaded videos and generated clips
• Authenticate your identity and secure your account
• Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets)
• Respond to support requests

We do not sell your personal information or uploaded content to third parties. We do not use your videos to train machine learning models outside of your account.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies that ensure only you and authorized family members can access your data.

Uploaded videos and generated clips are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Files are encrypted at rest and transmitted over HTTPS.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted passwords, secure session management, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only in these limited circumstances:

• Family members: Content you add to a family group is visible to other members of that group.
• Service providers: We use Supabase for database and authentication, Cloudflare R2 for file storage, and Vercel for hosting. These providers process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

5. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You have the right to:

• Access: View the personal information we hold about you via your account settings.
• Delete: Permanently delete your account and all associated data (videos, clips, profile information) at any time from your account settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
• Export: Download your uploaded videos and clips before deleting your account.

When you delete your account, we remove all your data from our database and initiate deletion of your files from cloud storage. Backups may retain data for up to 30 days before being purged.

6. Children's Privacy

ClipCapsule is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us to have it removed.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. Continued use of ClipCapsule after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
